Misi Mencari Playschool Putrajaya

Assalamualaikum,

Dah masuk pertengahan Nov 2016 baru la teringat nak carikan playshool untuk anak dara aku Adhwa. Adhwa genap 3 tahun awal bulan Oct 2016. So technically, she's only 37 month  old this month.

Nak mencari play school pun aku tak tau nak start dari mana.
Ye lah. Anak sulung.
Macam baru je beranakkan dia minggu lepas. Tengok-tengok dah 3 tahun dah aku ni. Buah hati pengarang jantung. Suka melaram melawa.

Sebenarnya aku tak mobile.
Aku pergi kerja car pool dengan husband. He will dropped me at my office then only he goes to his office.
Maka atas sebab itu, kami nak cari taska yang tak berapa nak jauh dari ofis.

Aku kerja di Presint 8.

Maka mencari sekitar dengan budget tak berapa nak cun.

Currently we sent both our babies 3yo & 4mo di rumah pengasuh. Which is pada kami sangat-sangat puts hati sebab anak-anak terjaga (pengasuh tak amik anak orang lain). Babysitter yang dipanggil mama cuma jaga anak-anak sendiri (5yo & 2yo) plus anak-anak kami. Atiyah nampak serasi dengan mama. Cuma Atiyah tak tido siang. Mai oh mai.

So misi mencari play school / taska etc bermula dari sekarang.
Atiyah insyaallah remain di rumah mama.
Adhwa? Well let us now find one good task for her.

Mohon bantuan reader untuk response beserta fee structure.

hehe

Lain-lain perkara akan dikemaskini setelah pencarian bermula.

terima kasih.

Potty Train

How to potty train your child in 3 days.
Penipu. Aku baca semua tips tapi tak berjaya.

It took me more than a week. Tapi apa pun berbalik kepada penjaga / parents.

Aku baca punya baca, semuanya berbalik pada kami. Umi. Bapak.

So aku share our method.

Aku siap beli potty toilet untuk anak aku. Siap mintak tips kat kawan-kawan how to potty train within 3 days.

Cita-cita tinggi! 3 hari dah sudah.
Pooodah.
Sudahnya potty toilet tak guna pun.

So tips aku adalah:

TIP [1]
Sabar dan sabar dan sabar.

You gonna need it.

Aku potty train Adhwa masa dia dah 2 tahun lebih. Dah boleh bercakap (pelat pun takpe, janji boleh cakap). Dah faham dan dah bersedia.

Ingat ye, bukan mak pak je kene bersedia, anak pun kene bersedia.

TIP [2]
Belikan training pants. Pastu takyah pakai baju. Biar berlengeng kata orang tua-tua.

Contoh seperti dibawah.

ihsan google

Kenapa perlu training pants?
1. To absorb pee (sebab anak tak sempat lari ke bilik air)
2. Re-usable.

TIP [3]
Biarkan anak kencing.
Haaa??

I'm serious. Selagi anak tak kencing dalam seluar, selagi tu dia tak rasa nak bagitau nak kencing. Potty seat / toilet ni tak payah beli. Membazir. Tak guna.

Sebetulnya beginilah jujukan masa aku train Adhwa dulu:

Kencing kali pertama : Pegang-pegang seluar (dah basah)

kali kedua : Pegang-pegang seluar (dah basah)

kali ketiga : Pegang-pegang seluar (dah basah)

Kali keempat : "Umi, wa nak kencing la," (tapi masa tu seluar dah basah). But this is a good sign tau sebab dia dah pandai bagitau. So mak pak jangan marah, jangan stress. Because this is good.

Kali kelima & keenam : read kali keempat.

Kali ketujuh : "Umi, wa nak kencing la," this time dia dah pandai berlari masuk toilet.

Insyaallah masuk kali ke 10, dah pass with flying colors. hehehe

Tapi biasa la tu. Kita sebagai mak pak ni kene rajin bertanya. Kekadang dia ralit main sampai tak perasan. So redho je lah ye.

Kita-kita masa kecik entah-entah lagi teruk.

TIP [3]
In between kali pertama hingga sepuluh tu, make sure kita tengok masa. Set every 30 minutes bawak dia pergi toilet. Ajar dia untuk kencing walaupun tak rasa nak kencing.

Macam Adhwa, sejak pandai kencing dalam bilik air, kejap-kejap dialog dia gini :

"Umi, wa nak kencing la.."

Kau jangan marah pulak. Dulu dia kencing sepah ko marah. Ni nak gi bilik air pun ko marah. Dia suka main air tu. hehe

Have fun potty train!

Kelahiran - Hospital Birth [Part 2]

Assalamualaikum,

Sambungan dari Part 1.

"Puan ada rasa sakit tak?" the doctor ask.

"Tak.,"
"Tapi dah 6cm ni," said the doctor.

"Kita monitor baby's heartbeat dulu ye," came the nurse.

"Puan, heartbeat baby tak cantik la puan. Kita tukar mesin yang satu lagi ye. Jom, tukar ke katil sebelah,"

Dengan berat punggung hati, aku pun bertukar ke katil sebelah. Nurse pasang balik semula the CTG devices on me.

"Ish.. heartbeat tak cantik ni. Puan, cuba duduk elok-elok. Jangan senget-senget badan," nurse tu kata lagi.

Ok.

No problem.

Duduk je elok-elok.
But seriously, masa tu pinging dah kebas plus nak baring pun tak bole sangat. Bukan sakit pun. Tapi tak selesa.

Then came the doctor. Senior lady doctor - I guess.

Because the previous doctor that checked on me was briefing my case to her.

Again, this senior doctor perform VE on me.

Ok, tak sakit. Serious tak tipu.
The trick is, relax. Don't think too much about the pain.

The senior doctor almost shout to the junior doctor and nurses.

"Dah 6cm ni, kenapa tak tolak ke labour room?"

Ok. I terkejut.

"Tapi heartbeat baby tak cantik," the nurse say to her defence.

"6cm ni kan? Terus tolak labour room la. Kang beranak kat sini pulak," sambung doktor tersebut.

So off we go.

They push my bed onto the lift.

Tercengang jugaklah because my husband was outside waiting for me.

On the labour room floor

"Sakit! Sakit!"
"Sakitnya Ya Allah! Sakit!"

Ok. Itu bukan suara aku. Hoho.

Itu suara patient yang dalam bilik bersalin.
Boleh dengar sampai kat luar.

Serious takut. Nak mintak epidural. Aku dah set dalam kepala, nak epidural. Tak pedulik.

Sampai labour room, nurse bagi pakaian lain. But I get to keep my seluar bersalin on me.

It was 8-ish, probably 8.15am. I don't remember the time.

"Puan dah rasa sakit ke?"
"Puan ada makan apa-apa tak harini?"
"Puan dah sakit ke?"
"Sakit tak?"
"Ada rasa macam nak buang air besar tak?"

Ok tu semua soalan berulang dari staff Hospital Ampang.
Aku cuma geleng kepala je. Sebab tak rasa sakit. In fact, aku tak tau masa bila nak kata sakit. Sebab memang tak sakit.

Then came another Indian lady doctor.
Again, VE was perform and she ask me,

"Puan ada minum air zam-zam ke?" muka dia a bit worried la aku rasa.
"takde,"
"Air yang untuk percepatkan bukaan tu.. puan ada minum air tu?" she asked again. Aku rasa dia maksudkan air selusuh.

Ok. Suami aku ada bawak air selusuh. TAPI aku tak minum air tu.

She look at me in shock.
"Puan ada rasa sakit?"
Aku geleng.

She ask one more time.
"Ada rasa sakit tak?
Ok. Sakit. Bukan sebab VE. Tapi sakit nak bersalin.

Aku dah angguk kepala. Laju-laju aku angguk. Sakit. Giler. Nak. Mam.

"Puan, you're 7cm dilated. Unfortunately, I could not offer any epidural because the dilation is too fast" the doctor explain.

Haaaa??

"I want epidural" - suara aku dah kuat.

They refuse to give me epidural. Atas sebab aku dah 7cm. The the pain is just too intense.   Tapi hospital memang ada bagi gas. Kalau rasa sakit, staff suruh kita amik nafas kat gas tu. I don't feel the different pun. huhu

I look at the wall clock.
It's 8.40 am.

Allah Allah.
Sakitnya nak bersalin.
I just couldn't take it. The pain to me is unbearable.

This time, the midwife take over as the doctor has left the room. My husband is standing next to me holding my hand and comfort me at times.

"Push only when you feel like pushing,"

and at 850am here comes our 2nd baby, Atiyah, 3.34 kg.

The Stitch

I do not wish to scare my dear reader about how pain it was when it comes to stitch. I thought the pain is finally over after I birth out 3.34kg human. Sadly - No.

Here comes the scariest part (after birthing - of course).
Stitch.
Midwife says only 3 stiches required as its only 1st degree tare.
Yeeeelah tu. Sakit ya ampunnn..
It feels like the stitching process tooks forever to end.
Aku dijahit WITHOUT bius ye.

Di ulang.
WithOUT bius.

The funny part is.. aku bole cakap

"Saya tak nak jahit!"
"Kalau tak nak jahit, baik you bersalin kat rumah je," kata midwife tu.

Kuang asam betul.

But that was it. Im not going into detail about the "jahit" so let us continue and introduce my dear reader to our little girl.

Presenting our little girl.
Atiyah binti Mohamad Hafiz

Ummi, Bapak & Kakak Adhwa loves you so much.

Oh yes, did I mention that both of us (my newborn & I) has been discharged around 6pm? And we waited for my dear hubby to fetch us after 8pm.

One more thing.

We actually sign up for 2nd class room, which is 4 bedded room and RM300 is required. Upon discharged, they only charged us RM20.

I guess maybe, just maybe, because we did not spent any night at the hospital.

All in all, Alhamdulillah everything goes well, even the staff are very friendly. From the doctor, nurses and even the guards are. So much love from them.

That's all for now.
Much love from me, in the office here in Putrajaya.

Post Pregnancy Problem [Susah Berak Lepas Bersalin]

Assalamualaikum,

Ramai antara kita yang bermasalah untuk membuang air besar atau bahasa mudahnya, berak. Terutama sekali, yang bersalin secara normal. Ada kesan koyak samada kene gunting (ouch!) atau koyak secara natural.

In my case, aku pun termasuk dalam golongan bermasalah untuk berak.

Memang susah nak membuang. Sebab kita rasa fobia.
Baru jahit kot! Salah teran kang koyak camne?
Ingat ke bersalin dah hilang azab. Ada azab kene jahit pulak!

Ok tips yang aku sendiri alami dan boleh kongsi :

1- JANGAN minum air milo.
Sebab air milo akan buat najis keras.

2- KERAP minum air ribena atau air oren atau air lemon. Beli lah brand apa pun takpe. Aku dulu amik yang brand tesco je. Janji air yang masam-masam sikit rasanya. Buat peka-pekat lagi bagus. Sebab air tersebut membantu melembutkan najis.

Last resort kalau dah try macam-macam tapi jadi jugak, ubat.
Boleh beli kat mana-mana farmasi.

Ubat Lactul ni botol dia macam ubat batuk je.

1. Lactul Solution
Macam takde rasa apa pun. Tapi pekat macam madu. Warna pun ala-ala madu.
Makan 1 tudung botol tu. Insyaallah dalam 30minit - 1 jam akan rasa nak berak dan najis lembut.
Berkesan. Serious.

ihsan google.

2. Enema.
Picit kat lubang punggung. Jangan kau buat makan pulak.
Nasihat aku, pi masuk jamban siap-siap kalau nak guna ubat ni. Sebab effect dia kurang seminit.
Berkesan jugak.
Cuma kita takut-takut nak masuk ke punggung. Ye lah, ada jahitan lagi kan.

Ubat-ubat tu semua atas keprihatinan suami aku.

Standby. Kesian kat bini.

Semoga membantu.

Kelahiran - Hospital Birth [Part 1]

Assalamualaikum,

It's been a while since my last post. I've been trying to find some time to write my birthing experience - a hospital birth to be exact. And now, my very first day resuming to work after 2 months of maternity leave is the only time I manage to slot in.

So here goes my birthing experience:
It was the 16th Ramadan and both my husband & I are having our sahoor at 5.15 in the morning when suddenly I feel this..
"Ct rasa air ketuban lah Yang," I said casually to my dear husband who has just finish his meal. At that time, I can feel the leaking.
"OK. Sakit tak?" he asked.
"Tak pun," I replied.
"Lambat lagi kot nak beranak?" tanya suamiku lagi.
"Ye kot, time adhwa dulu pun mau 8 jam," jawabku.

Little did we know, that this baby is about to poop.
Soon.
Today.
This morning.

At 5.30 am, I went to the toilet to check if there is any bloody show - Nope, there isn't.
Tak sempat nak melangkah keluar dari toilet, gushhhh!
Oppss!

"Abid, ct rasa nak kene gi hospital la,"
"Ok, boleh solat tak? Subuh dulu la,"

Usai solat subuh, kami siapkan Adhwa. And I'm texting Adhwa's babysitter to let her know that we're going to send Adawa a bit too early today.

See the time stamp? It's 6.12 am man!

After we send Adhwa to her babysitter, we go straight away to Hospital and reached Hospital Ampang at 8am.

Go straight to the delivery zone and register myself. Nurse kat front desk tu tanya:
"Puan datang atas urusan apa?"
"Saya rasa macam dah nak bersalin," aku cakap.
"Macam mana tau nak bersalin dah?" tanya nurse lagi.
"Air ketuban dah keluar sikit-sikit,"
"Sakit tak?" nurse tanya lagi.

And the conversation went on and on because the nurse just has to verify my story before she ask me to change my cloth to hospital attire (I already put on my seluar bersalin).

Around 8.20am, doctor ask me to lay on the bed. Nak buat VE. Takut oi!

Just relax - said the doctor.
So I did.

"Puan ada sakit tak?"
"Tak pulak,"
"Tapi dah 6cm ni.." kata doktor lagi.

Review : Coway VS Dr Jabbar Water Dispenser

Assalamualaikum,

Harini nak buat review berkenaan these two well-known water dispenser / purifier. Kenapa aku buat review? Sebab I am currently using these two water dispenser.

1. Coway (old model)
2. Dr Jabbar (current model)

Coway
Dr Jabbar

Mula-mula nak cerita apa keperluan dan apa motif beli water purifier a.k.a. water dispenser?
At first we bought the 2nd hand water dispenser, Coway brand (stand type). Why Coway? Because Coway was famous back then. Even now pun still famous.

Why do you need water dispenser?
Because my husband & I are both tired to keep on jerang air every time we want to bancuh air, especially after our toddler has started mix feeding between breastmilk & formula milk. We owned a thermos / flask to keep the water hot. But it is just not enough. So we survey for a few weeks for water dispenser. And yes, we are eyeing on Coway brand.

Pricey? Yes.
The problem with kitchen appliance is that - it requires money. Like - a lot. And we could not commit to pay monthly or every two month for 4 years. Its like committing yourself buying a car or a house. Only that car / house loan can go from 5 to 30 years of commitment.

Work around?
Buying a second hand unit. Used item.
So after much negotiation and thoughts, we bought this Coway stand unit for RM2,000. Mind you, we have to pay another RM120 for Coway technician to come over and install the unit.

So to all parents out there, if NEW unit is too much for you to pay, just go for 2nd hand unit. As long as it works, it should be fine.

So here goes my comparison for the two brand.

Lokasi-wise:
Coway - diguna di ofis & rumah. Jangan buat main, aku pakai coway stand kat rumah ye. hehe Yang gambar di atas adalah new unit (beli tahun 2014 - duit company of course). Sekarang off dulu sebab bulan puasa. Sebab tu takde lampu menyala.
DrJ - baru beli (around 1 month ago) dan diletakkan dirumah orang tua aku.

Price-wise :
Coway (we bought 2nd hand, age 2yrs old) priced at RM2,000.
DrJabbar (bought new unit) priced at RM1,199.

Maintenance-wise:
Coway: I did call Coway to ask if its possible to continue the maintenance. Ye la, nak replace the parts and all kan. And it cost me RM1,000 plus for 1 year services complete with replacement. Hell NO! So what we did was, since theres only 3 of use (my husband & 1 & toddler), we decided to service ourself. Replacement tu can wait.
DrJ: Its more like Do-It-Yourself. Only have to buy the part which is RM45-RM50 per year. Murah tak? Murah tak?

Material-wise:
Coway menang BIG time! Sebab apa? Sebab material dia sangat kukuh compared to DrJ.
Coway ada roda di tapak (2 biji roda kot), jadi kalau nak move kan unit tu, tolak skit je. Takde la rasa berat sebab boleh slide.
DrJ takde roda. Dan kalau pegang pada unit dia, ala-ala fragile gitu.

Temperature:
Coway: Hot, Cold & Room Temperature. Ada safety button untuk hot temperature.
DrJ : Hot, Cold & Warm. Juga ada safety button untuk hot temperature.

Ok nak komen sikit pasal temperature ni.
Coway
Hot memang hot. Sedang elok. Kalau letak air tu dalam cawan plastik, still ok lagi.
Room & Cold memang sedap. Lagi-lagi cold tu. Macam baru keluar peti ais. peh pehh

DrJabbar
Hot dia, ala-ala baru mendidih. Panas ya ampun. Better than Coway.
Warm - memang warm lah.
Cold - serious tak puas hati. Cold ala2 segan je. Tapi cold dia macam kita perlu tambah ais untuk hidang kat tetamu. haa macam tu. Better lagi Coway.

All in all, ukur baju dibadan sendiri. Kalau rasa mampu, go for Coway.
Aku beli DrJ ni sebab bayar lumpsum. Takde monthly commitment.

Verdict :
Coway : 4.5 out of 5
DrJ : 3 out of 5

Hospital / Mummy / Baby Bag

When did you pack your hospital bag?
I just did. Yesterday. At week 36.

What to prepare?
Here the checklist. Feel free to share if you want to.

For baby:
3 pasang baju
1 receiving blanket
1 bath towel
4-5 pcs of disposable diaper
baby wipes
milk bottle (in case you have to hand express your breast milk)

For mummy:
birth plan (hehe - natural birth katanya)
sarong (kain batik), palazo
tshirt
headscarf (tudung)
socks
nursing bra
extra undies
breast pad
maternity pad
toiletries (tooth brush, tooth paste, face wash)
bath towel
air selusuh

Since this is my 1st experience birthing in a hospital (my 1st born was a homebirth), please allow me to have a little bit of "panic issue". Homebirth does not require hospital bag kan? ha ha.

Enough?

Cukup la rasanya semua tu. Bukan nak berumah tangga pun kat hospital kan?
But if you plan to give birth in a private hospital, you might have to add more items in your hospital bag. Things that you might want to bring along are :
- ipod / ipad / tablet
- nursing pillow

As for me, I planned to give birth at Hospital Ampang (gov hospital) as I dont think any private hospital will take me in should my SVT episode came back. More about my SVT episode, please read here.

As far as I know, if you have SVT history, you must have a cardiologist standby during your labour / delivery. Why? Because SVT may not be life-threatening to the mother, but IT IS life-threatening to your unborn baby. Oh ya, you must inform your doctor / gynea about your medical history as well.

Happy birthing to me and all mothers in the world.
May we have an easy labour and a healthy baby as well.
